a physics professor driving in his car drops a coffee mug while moving at the const. velocity of 9.8 m/s along the highway.the professor notices that it only takes a half a second for the mug drop straight down to the floor of his car.a student standing along side the road sees the mug moving in a parabola with respect to her . what thime does the measure for the mug to hit the follr of the car??

Time is independent of frame of reference. So time for her will also be 0.5 sec

there is no component of velocity in verticle direction in any of the cases so the time of fall will be same for both cases...
