  • NEET 2022 will be conducted on 17 July 2022.

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern - Subject-wise Marks Distribution 

 

  • The NEET 2022 exam will include 2 sections for every subject.
  • Section A will include 35 questions and Section B will include 15 questions. From Section B, students have to answer only 10 questions. 
  • There will be a total of 200 multiple choice questions out of which 20 questions are optional. Students have to answer only 180 questions in the NEET exam.

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern - Marking Scheme 

 

  • Every question in the NEET exam is of 4 marks each. So, if you answer a question correctly, you will be awarded 4 marks. 
  • NEET 2022 exam also includes negative markings. For every wrong answer, 1 mark will be deducted from your total score. 
  • If you leave a question unanswered, no marks will be deducted/awarded for that question. 
  • You have to be very careful with the OMR sheet. Once you mark your answer on the sheet, you cannot change it. 

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern - Question Paper Medium 

 

  • Candidates have to select the NEET question paper medium at the time of filling out the application form. 
  • Once you choose the medium of the NEET exam question paper, you cannot change it. 
  • If you choose the medium of the NEET 2022 examination paper as English, you will receive a question paper in English only. 
  • If you choose the medium of the NEET 2022 examination paper as Hindi or any other regional language, you will receive a bilingual question paper including questions in the language that you have chosen and English. 
  • In case of any ambiguity in the translation of any of the questions, the English version of the NEET question paper shall be treated as final.
  • NEET 2022 exam will be available in 13 languages including English, Bengali Gujarati, Hindi, Malayalam, etc. 
  • The choice of regional language depends on the exam centre that you choose.

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern - Changes in 2022

 

  • The duration of the NEET 2022 exam has been changed. The exam will be 200 minutes (03 hours 20 minutes) and will be conducted from 02:00 PM to 05:20 PM (IST). Earlier the exam was 3 hours only. Now, NTA has increased its duration by 20 minutes. 
  • There will be 200 questions in the question paper. However, candidates have to answer only 180. 
  • Earlier there were no sections given under each subject. Now, every subject has two sections. The second section includes 15 questions out of which students have to attempt only 10. 

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern - Important Points About NEET OMR Answer Sheets 

 

  • Students have to mark their answers on an OMR sheet using a blue/black ballpoint pen only. 
  • This sheet is evaluated using computer software and the software can read only those bubbles that are filled with colour. 
  • Candidates must not put any other marks or tamper with the sheet as it might restrict the software from recording their answers. 
  • There will be specific boxes for filling Roll Number, Test Booklet No. and Test Booklet Code. You just need to fill the bubbles of the corresponding number. 
    • The roll number for NEET 2022 will be 10 digits 
    • The test booklet number will be 7 digits 
  • Candidates also have to fill their Father’s name and Mother’s name in the respective boxes mentioned in the OMR sheet. 
  • The signature of the candidate must be in running handwriting. 
  • Every candidate must check the OMR sheet filling instructions given by NTA for NEET 2022. 
  • The OMR sheet given in NEET 2022 exam will also contain instructions. Candidates must read them before starting the exam.

NEET Exam Pattern - Question Types

 

You must know that NEET exam questions will be multiple choice. This means that every question will include 4 options, out of which you have to select the right answer. Here are some example questions from NEET question paper 2021. 

 

Sample Question 1: A ball of mass 0.15 kg is dropped from a height of 10 m, strikes the ground and rebounds to the same height.  The magnitude of impulse imparted to the ball is (g=10 m/s2) nearly :

Sample Question 2: Noble gases are named because of their inertness towards reactivity.  Identify an incorrect statement about them.
