Hi Due to increase in Quota , the no. of engg. institutes has to be increased so that the no. of general seats remain the same. Probably ,From this academic session, DCE has 910 seats, while NSIT has 200 seats. Some sources say that there has been an increase of about 100 seats in DCE and NSIT fr branches like Polymer, Bio and some other branches. Delhi Technological University Bill 2009 Passed New Delhi: Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) will soon be upgraded to the status of Delhi Technological University (DTU). On Wednesday i.e. July 1, 2009 Delhi Assembly passed the Delhi Technological University (DTU) Bill 2009. Delhi College of Engineering is rated among the top ten engineering colleges in India. The college is also likely to offer new courses from the forthcoming academic session, starting from August, with additional 458 new seats - 240 new seats in the B Tech programme, 168 new postgraduate seats in the M Tech programmes and 50 new PhD and teaching-cum-research fellowships. Presently in DCE 85 percent of the seats are reserved for students of Delhi. The Government plans to double the number of seats for the undergraduate courses in the next two years at the institute. The increase in seats will mean more options for students of Delhi.
