big companies of world google,microsoft,oracle,,,,etc,,,,r offering best salaries and growth opportunities for IT people.....but d condition of normal engineer is much critical...lack of jobs,,rare growth,,unsatisfactory salaries..inspite of dat....ppl choose careers in civil,mech........instead of doin IT...which is much easier than engineering and more profitable..

Initial package offered by IT companies is very lucrative but later on after 5 to 10 years it is generally less than that of offered by core companies. Secondly core companies provide stable career and you must have seen the fluctuation in IT sectors.
