Root cell is diploid. Pollen Mother Cell(PMC) is also diploid.(It undergoes meiosis to form microspore tetrad. So no; of chromosomes in PMC is also 24.
PEC or Primary Endosperm cell is triploid (formed by fusion of male gamete(haploid) with the 2 haploid polar nuclei. So number of chromosomesi 3*(24/2)= 36
