Carnot engine: The effieciency of a carnot engine is 0.5 if the tempertaure of the source is T1 and that of sink is T2. The efficiency of another carnot engine is also 0.5. What would be the temperature of the source and the sink of the second carnot engine respectively? 2T1 and 2T2 T1 + 5 and T2 – 5 2T1 and 0.5T2 T1 + 10 and T2 – 10

Efficiency of a Carnot engine is N = 1 - (T2/T1)Since the efficiency is the same, the temperature of the source and the sink must be same as well.
