The shortest wavelength transition in the Barlmer series corresponds to the transition
n = 2 → n = ∞. Hence, n1 = 2, n2 = ∞ Balmer

The shortest wavelength transition inn the balmer series corresponds to the transiton n1=2,n2=.

For hydrogen spectrum,

Wave number, νˉ or λ1=RH[n121n221]

Putting the values and we get,

νˉ=27425 cm1
