The reaction of powdered aluminium and iron (III) oxide,

produces so much heat, that the iron which forms is molten. If 2 mol of Al is mixed with 0.8 mol of Fe2O3, how many grams of iron (in two significant figures) can be formed from this reaction?

(At. masses: Al = 27, Fe = 56, O = 16)

2 Al plus fe2 o3 gives al2 o3 plus 2 fe first find limiting reagent to find divide number of moles by stiochometric coeffient which value least that is considered to be limiting reagent so as per data fe2 o3 is limiting reagent so 2.4 moles of iron can be formed as iron and fe2 o3 found in 1 is to 2 ratio so for weight multiply by 56 2.4 into 56 is 136.4
