Can u help me here ...i think the ans is B since aromatic compounds have a (4n+2)pi electrons in their ring according to the Huckel's rule but is there any other rule so as to find the anti - aromatic compound and if so pls specify....
Is my ans right??? If not pls give the right ans with the apt explanation
Geez..Thank You
I think Option C is correct..Coz III has got only 4 pi-electrons..So Huckel's rule disobeyed... N IV obviously
Compound II has no pi electrons! So no need to consider..
Anyway right option is either C or D.
surely option C is correct ...
for anti aeromatic - all carbons should be in conjugation & should not follow (4n+2) pi ectron rule ...
I,II are both aeromatic but III,IV both anti aeromatic coz all atoms are in conjugation but system has
4 pi electrons from 2 double bonds & thus violates (4n+2) rule ..
4n+2 rule means - for n =0, 1,2 pi electrons are 2,6,10 .....so on
number of pi electrons should be 2 , 6 , 10 ....
