A uniform rod of mass M and Length L is in a vertical positiion on a smooth Horizontal surface.The lower end is made to slip. What is the path followed by the centre of mass during the falling of the rod?

It will be same as the path followed by a projectile when thrown from a tower/vertical height horizontally and the projectile reaches ground by the effect of Gravity i.e.,HALF PARABOLA.
