Ideal gas equation is PV = nRT, P is pessure of gas, V is its volume, n is number of moles,R is gas constant, T is temperature of gas which is kept constant here.\Rightarrow

So, PV = constant  or  P \alpha 1/V.
If pressure is doubled, volume will get halved i.e.
volume of gas will become v/2.
