Why does reducing property of dioxides decrease along group 16?

First Reason could be:
As due to p-pi p-pi bonds gets weakens due to increase in size as increase in number of shells which hence increaes the length and therfore, reducing property decreases.
Secondly,
 Due to inert pair effect,its acts as a reducing agent.
