Let us consider the situation in the form of a right angled traingle where ladder forms the hypotenuse, perpendicular is wall and base is the distance of wall and base of ladder. Now we know the various angles of the triangle 90 , 30 and 60(180-90+30) and the length of hypotenuse . Using this calculate the length of other sides by using trigonometric ratios . The ratio comes out to be

Now the movemenf along hypotenuse is at a rate of 2m/s so the dispalce ment along base will be at a rate of 1 m/s ( half of hypotenuse
