An electric dipole moment p=(2i+3j)*10 -6 C-m is placed in a uniform electric field E=(3i+2k)*10 5 N/C. Show that if the dipole is rotated in the electric field, the maximum potential energy of the dipole will be 1.3J

As we have learned

Unstable Equilibrium -

\Theta = 180^{\circ}

\tau = 2PE

U_{max}= PE

- wherein

 In the given condition angle between \vec{p} and \vec{E} is zero. Hence potential energy U= -pE \cos 0= -pE= min

also in uniform electric field F_{net}=0
