Here is the question: Two springs are connected as in the figure. F 1 = -k 1 x 2 and F 2 = -k 2 x. Let AB = l, rod is massless. Force F is applied at O. AO = y. Find the equivalent spring constant for 0 Please explain what exactly is meant by equivalent spring constant here, and how to find it.

Here is the question:

Two springs are connected as in the figure. F1 = -k1x2 and F2 = -k2x. Let AB = l, rod is massless. Force F is applied at O. AO = y.

Find the equivalent spring constant for 0 < x <<1 (small displacement).

Please explain what exactly is meant by equivalent spring constant here, and how to find it.

since, 1. Diagram is missing.
2. F1 is directly proportional to the square of the displacement, which is not obeyed according to Hooke’s law.
