First of all congos on securing a very good rank in aieee...see as far as your choice of CSE is concerned i would rather suggest you to join NIT allahabad for that because it has a better cse department as per my views..see there is no difference amongst any of the top 4 NIT A,W,S,T because there are some branches like electronics,electrical,chemical which are better in the south NITs or I should say a lot better than MNNIT but when it comes to CSE MECH and CIVIL it has always been performing well academically and placement wise than the southern NITs...the reasons are obvious for judjing an institutionss cse department..get to know how much their students are involved in coding activities..as far as NITs are concerned there is a huge gap between MNNIT and rest of the NITs of the country in this for more info go to www.spoj.pl www.codechef.com and look at the difference in amount of the people doing coding..next is that i have heard that they run extra classes by the final year coding team from 1st year itself specially meant for hardcore coding..next is the placements you cant compare 1.3 crore placement at fb with even IITs I suppose and amazon one of the biggies come to mnnit and take 4-7 people every year .even it takes not more than 2 from IIT madras...so placements are obviously better...next is your preparation for other exam..your really cant expect trichy warangal and surathkal to have better coaching institutes than allahabad espacially if you talk in terms of UPSC...they run coaching of MBA by Time institute in the campus itself...next is the infrastructure no doubt the south NITs have better infrastructure than NIT A but recently they have got all their classrooms fitted with acs and openeings of bikanerwala ,amul and ac resturant in their campus..the hostels were a mess until now but after the construction of the new MEGA hostel that problem has been solved because they are shifting the first years into the mega hostel from this semster which is very beautifully built from inside and with proximity to the famous computer centre of NIT allahabad..next is the internet facilities...NIT allahabad is the only NIT in the country besides IIIT A to boast of 100 Mbps optical LAN network throughout the institute with unlimited downloading and a wi-fi connection throughout the institute. NIT T and W have a special building where you can do internet but in NIT A you can run websites even while sitting at your rooms,libraries,classrooms and even mess...the only thing that NIT A is devoid of is swiimming pool,squash court ...else everything is available as the other NITs...next most importatnt thing is the tolerance towards ragging is zero in NIT A...there are very strict rules and punishments for ragging and the first years are escorted by security to their classroom for the first 3 months..the last batch than had ragging passed out last year and therefor no one knows that much about ragging so you can feel freely to talk to the seniors initially without having any fear of ragging..hope you understand what i mean..i fyou wanted to join ece or ee i would have recommended you NIT T and gave several resons for that too but since you want to be a software engineer i suggest you not to look at the slight difference in the orcr rather go for cse at NIT allahabad because of the level of cse there..if you want to be a good coder join it else if you want to gain knowledge in bookish topics like parallel computing or operating systems join NIT WARANGAL...but remember NIT A was the first institute in the country to start undergraduate course in comuter science...

coding means practising questions by solving them using a computer language like c/c++/java/python/pascal/perl ..for more info go to websites www.topcoder.com www.spoj.pl www.codechef.com and as far as NIT T/W are concerned if you want to be pursuing parallel computing ,system administration,database management ,networking and mobile computing go for it because it involves a lot of course related studies which will be better there but if you want to be a good programmer go to NIT A.
