I think you are clear enough yourself because you know that you will get some branches in Old IITs for sure and I appreciate your involvement in this.

I believe that you can get the least fancied branches in the Old IITs like

1.Civil Engg

2.Chemical Engg

3.Metallurgical & Materials Engg

I recommend you to have this preference order while going for IITs.

1.IIT-Madras

2.IIT-Delhi

3.IIT-BHU

4.IIT-Bombay

5.IIT-Kharagpur

This order is exclusively for you and I strongly recommend you to go by this order .
