The force of tension cohesion exceeds root pressure on a (4) sunny day

On a sunny day the water potential of the atmosphere is less than the cells inside the leaves therefore water moves from the leaf cells into the atmosphere by the process of transpiration. This loss of water from the leaves raises the tension inside the plant which exceeds the root pressure.
