Dear Pankaj,

Thank you for asking
Look, In every cell, we have every chromosome in a pair. Each chromosome has Highly coiled DNA and the gene is that segment or location of DNA which codes for any protein. The same type of gene is also present at the same location on the alternate pair of the chromosome (Homologous pair). That gene is called alleles or allelomorphs.

Gene contain the information that is required to express a particular trait in an organism. And the genes which code for a pair of contrasting trait is called alleles.. For example a gene responsible for height of plant... One gene is for tall and one gene is for dwarf. That contrasting character called allele .

So, basically An allele is a variant form of a gene. Some genes have a variety of different forms, which are located at the same position, or genetic locus, on a chromosome. Humans are called diploid organisms because they have two alleles ,one at each geneticlocus, with one allele inherited from each parent.
