Hi,

To answer this question, first, you should have some idea about the arrangement of the gene over chromosome. There are variousrepetitivesequence of base pairs are present which are further categorised. Like, Tandem repeats, microsatellite, minisatellite, SINE, LINE.

All these repetitive sequences are the potential tag for tracing out the evolutionary path by making a comparisonwith the other multiple copies of the repetitive DNA by various NCBI web tool set like ClustalW (means for multiple sequence alignment for comparison).
