Hello student
correct answer is 2. 50%
50% because anyone never predict that next child is boy or girl
As it is a independent event the probability would be always 50% whaterver be the previous family history.
female have two X chromosomes
male have one X and one Y chromosome
so cross gives two X chromosomes and one XY chromosome.

The correct answer is (2) 50%.

When there is a cross between XY and XX, the gametes that form are XY, XX, XY and XX. That means there is 25% probability for each gamete to be formed. So there will be 50% probability of a son or a daughter to born.
Therefore no matter how many children are born, the probability that the next child is son or a daughter will always be 50%.
