Dear Student

When ray passes through denser to rarer medium.
Angle of refraction is greater than angle of incidence.
When a ray of light passes from glycerine(denser) to water (rarer medium)
Then frim Snell's law-
sin i/sin r = \mu

Sin i/ sin r = \mu1 /\mu2
When r = 90°,
Angle of incidence is called critical angle.
i.e.,
i = \thetac

Then
\thetac = sin-1 (1.33/1.47)
\thetac = 64° 48'
