ABCD is parallelogram 
Draw traingle AA1C 
AA1 + A1C = AC 
A1 is mipoint of BC 
A1C = 0.5 BC 
AA1+ 0.5BC = AC
AA1 = AC -0.5BC ...........(1)
Draw traingle AB1C 
AB1 + B1C = AC 
B1C = 0.5DC 
AB1 = AC - 0.5DC...........(2)
adding 1 and 2 
AA1 +AB1 = 2AC -0.5(BC +AB)
But we know from traingular law of addition 
AB + BC = AC 
AA1 + AB1 = 2AC - 0.5AC 
AA1 + AB1 = 1.5 AC 
S0, lmbda = 1.5
