Dear sushant rajbhar,
Only the students who have marks within the Top 20 percent are eligible to write the IIT-JEE Mains Examination. For admission into the NIT''s the students have to give only the IIT-JEE Mains Exam and do not want to give the Advanced Exam.
According to the new NIT admission process, a final rank will be a combination of
1. Normalised XII Board marks carrying a weightage of 40%. It is one of the eligibility criteria.
2. JEE MAINS score with a weightage of 60%.
Somewhere around 65-75% will get you are sure shot seat in any NIT for Mechanical/Electrical branch !!
All the Very Best & Good Luck to you ..!
Hope this helped you immensely..!!
