(i)Propanal and propanone :
On adding NaOH+I₂ ,propanone gives yellowppt of Iodoform whereas propanal does not.
(ii) Methyl acetate and ethyl acetate: Ethyl acetate on hydrolysis gives ethanol
which forms yellow ppt of Iodoform on adding NaOH+I2. Methylacetate on
hydrolysis gives methanol which does not give Iodoform reaction.
