Antidepressants are medicated to people with moderate or severe depression. Although antidepressants may not cure depression, they can reduce their symptoms.Antidepressants also have harmful side effects if there is irregular intake and without medicated by specialist.

Certain brain chemicals called neurotransmitters are associated with depression, particularly the neurotransmitters serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine. Most antidepressants relieve depression by affecting these neurotransmitters.
Examples are Venlafaxine, Desvenlafaxine, Mirtazapine etc.
