The standard reduction potential of Al (Al 3+ + 3e - = Al) is -1.66. It is the reduction potential of Al (Al 3+ /Al) that is -1.66, but when Al is acting as anode and getting oxidised to Al 3+ , the E cell of Al/Al 3+ cell is given to be -1.66. How is it possible to have the samve value of -1.66 for both oxidation and reduction?

Because Al in one cell act as anode and in other act as cathode so Al has same value but opposite sign
