See longest wavelength line of any series in hydrogen spectrum is the first line of the series.Again 1/ R = 912 Angstrom where R= Rydberg constant.1/ wavelength = R z^2 { 1/ n1^2 - 1/ n2^2 }n1= 2 and n2 = 3 as it is balmer series. Then solve it u will get answer.---- Gaurav Rathod,Aurangabad Mah

For He +1,Z=2, for barmer series, n1=2, for longest wavelength, n2 =3 ,therefore (1/icap>>) =(R [(1/4)-(1/9)]×(2^2) = (5R/9) =(5/9a). Because 1/a=r.
