MnO 2 (s) + 4HCl(aq) &rarr; Cl 2 (g) + MnCl 2 (aq) + 2H 2 O(l) is the required chemcial eqn. forthe preparation of Cl 2 from MnO 2 . d-block elements startiing from atomic number 21 to 30 mainly form Coordination compounds due to d orbitals present whicch participate into the bonding of central atoms from other ligands.
