Dear praneeth,

First statement is incorrect, as there are some rxn that are both decomsition and redox rxn

                        E.g.:  NH4NO2(s) → N2(g) + 2 H2O(g)

Now second statement is correct, as intra molecular reaction are those rxn in which species being reduced and oxidized belong to different element of same group.

In rxn,                          2KClO3  ------> 2KCl+3O2

Reduction:                  Cl+5 -----> Cl-1

Oxidation:                   O-2  ------> O0

As Cl & O getting reduce and oxidize respectively belong to same molecule hence it is called intra molecular reaction
