they have high melting and boiling points as they have more no of free electrons and the free electrons form more number of bonds...... and which require more energy to break the bonds

Because of more number of unpaired electrons and effective nuclear charge, so it has strong metallic bond which is difficult to break down .Hence D-block elements have high melting and boiling point.
