Why ‘Ag’ leaves R-NC when R-X is reacted with AgCN? Need a better explaination.

silver cyanide is covalent compound.... so what happens is that the attack takes place through the nitrogen atom as it has lone pair of electrons
instead of the attack through the carbon...... hence RNC is formed and not RCN..….…...
