Iodoform test is given by aldehydes or ketones having α methyl group.(-COCH3​)


Even alcohols having α methyl group can also show the iodoform test.

Thus, methanol does not show this reaction as it does not have an α methyl group. 
 
This reaction is also used to distinguish ethanol and methanol.
 
Option D is correct.
