volumetric analysis, any method ofquantitative chemical analysisin which the amount of a substance is determined by measuring the volume that it occupies or, in broader usage, the volume of a second substance that combines with the first in known proportions, more correctly called titrimetric analysis

It is a quantitative method of chemical analysis in which an amount of a substance is determined by measuring the volume it occupies,it involves the measurement of a volume of a solution of known concentration and the volume of a substance in a solution. Eg: Titration.
