in decarboxylation reaction the mixture of cao and naoh are called as soda lime and its easier to handle solda lime than caustic soda .
soda lime is a granuoles which absorb the water from atmosphere , and its very stable in atmospheric condition .
in decarboxylation reaction the sodium salt of a carboxylic acid is mixed with solid soda lime and the mixture is heated .
SO, DUE TO THAT CAO IS REQUIRED /.
HOPE IT CLEARS ..
