Isomers are two or more compounds with the same formula but a different arrangement of atoms in the molecule and different properties.

o-ortho position and p-para position and m- meta position for example xylene is a collective term for a mixture of o-,p-,m- isomers of xylene these isomers differ only in placement of two methyl groups on a benzene ring. as shown in figure .
