How the value of dipole moment of a diatomic molecule can be used to evaluate the ionic character of its bond?(hint: dipole moment=f x e x d;f is the fraction of the electronic charge, e , on the atoms).

remember the formula
%ionic character=(experimental value of dipole moment/theoritical value of d.m)×100
suppose for hcl a diatomic molecule
exp value=1.03D
theoritical value=6.09D
%ionic character=1.03/6.09 ×100 =16.9%

thanks and regards
