WHY DIPOLE MOMENT OF P-HYDROXY PHENOL IS NON ZERO?

Dear anurag

In P-HYDROXY PHENOL , -OH group are atached to benzene ring at and angel 180 degree.so ther vectorially oppsite to each other.Moment due to 1 -OH group cancel the moment due to other -OH group.

The dipole moment is non zero because there is non restricted rotation about the single bond between O and H thus giving lots of conformation with non zero dipole moment
