Dear anurag bhattacharjee,

The positive charge over the Benzene Ring is certainly not stable. This is because, Positive charge is stabilized by adjacent negative charge - such as electron donating groups – and destabilized by adjacent positive charge such as electronegativity(increasing) and increasing s-character of orbitals. (Opposite charges attract, like charges repel). 

Postive charge alone is itself not stable.

Though the positive charge on Benzene ring is stabilised by resonance, all the intermediate forms are antiaromatic. As benzene looses its aromaticity positive charge on benzene ring is unstable

If benzene has opposite charges on adjacent position, then it will result in the formation of triple bond due to attraction of opposite charges resulting in spread of charge, Which causes stabilization. Putting in a nut shell,any factor which decreases the charge will cause stabilization.
