A rope is used to pull a 2.89kg bucket of water out of a deep well. What is the acceleration of the bucket when the tension in the rope is 30.2N ? if starting from rest, what speed will the bucket have after experiencing this force for 2.16 seconds.

Tension in the rope in upward direction = 30.2 N .

weight of bucket in downward direction = mg

net force in upward direction = 30.2 - mg

30.2 - 2.89 x 9.8

= 1.878 N

acceleration = net force / mass

= 1.878 / 2.89

= .65 m /s² .

= 65 cm /s²
