A neutron moving with a speed v makes a head on collision with a hydrogen atom in ground state kept at rest. The minimum kinetic energy of neutron for which inelastic collision will take place is( assume mass of the proton is nearly equal to the mass of neutron)?? Plz solve this...

Dear student

assume perfectly in elspastic collision for mqximum loss in K.E.

Vf = Vi/2

K.E. (f) = ½ * 2m * Vi2 /4

K.E. (f) = K.E.(i) /2

K.E.(i) /2 >= 10.2 ev

K.E.(i) >= 20.4 ev
