Two guns are situated at the top of a hill firing the shots at the same speed . One gun fires the shot horizontally and other gun fires the shot at an angle of 60 degree with horizontal . The two shot collide in air. If the time taken by horizontal shot to reach the point of collision is 3 sec , find the time interval between two shots .

Let the shot moving hoeizontally take T1 sec i.e. to collide .
Now we see that the horizontal component of the gun shot at 60 degree is equal to T1 so
T2cos60degree=3
Or, T2 =3×2
Or,T2=6secs
Thus the time interval between
T2 and T1 = (6-3 )secs=3secs
T2andT1is (T2--T1 = 6-3=3secs
