Dear student,

The block moves down with speed 2m/s and string is winding with 2m/s. Hence speed at which is string is moving down on the right of the pulley=4m/s.
The velocity of pulley is average of that of string on its two sides.
Hence\dfrac{v-4}{2}=2\implies v=8m/s
