Going through C’ would require one to drag the object through AB directly whereas going from C would require one to drag it along AC+BC.
From the properties of a traingle, one can observe that Sum of any 2 sides of a triangle> 3rdside.
Hnce, AC+BC> AB
This is the distance for which the same friction force is experienced per unit distance. Hence, more the distance, more the work done.
