Dear student,

At t=1second, the acceleration of man upwards=a_1=\dfrac{20-0}{2-0}m/s^2=10m/s^2

Hence the weight of man at this time=M(g+a_1)

At t=8 second, the acceleration of the lift is zero. Hence the weight of man=Mg

At t= 12seconds, the acceleratino of lift downwards=a_2=\dfrac{20-0}{14-10}m/s^2=5m/s^2
Hence weight of the man=M(g-a_2)
