```							If the ice on the polar caps melts, it will distribute the ice now at the poles all around the planet causing a change in the distribution of mass. The classic example of this would be an ice skater who opens their arms to come out of a spin. An earth where the ice caps had melted into the oceans would have its mass further from the axis of rotation , causing the rotation to slow. This means that the earth would then have longer days.
