Kinetic energy is given by

p^2/2m, where p is momentum. To double kinetic energy we have to replace p by sqrt of 2xp.

So, increase in momentum is p(sqrt of 2–1)

The% increase=[p( sqrt of 2–1)/p] x100=41%.
