```							As we know that,S = ut+½at²u = 0 ( freefall )Let total time be ‘t’Total distance be ‘S’So,S/2 = ½(9.8)(T-1)² -[1]S = ½(9.8)(T)² -[2]From [1] & [2]2{½(9.8)(T-1)²} = ½(9.8)(T)²2(T-1)² = (T)²√2(T-1) = TT= √2/(√2–1)T = 3.4142 second.
