A person starts from his home on a straight road in his car at a speed of 50 m/s for half an hour. Then the fuel in his car finishes. So he stops, walks to a petrol pump some distance ahead on the same road. He gets the fuel from the pump and gets back to his car in 20 min. Then he again starts moving in initial direction of motion with same speed of 50 m/s. What is the average velocity of the man in 1 hour, after he started from his home? (1) Zero (2) 120 km/hr (3) 180 km/hr (4) 50 m/s Pls give the detailed solution of the above problem with proper explanation.

Answer will be 120 km/hr. In first half hour it will cover 90 km and then he walks for 20 min ober there its average velocity will be zero for 20 minutes. So now only 10 minutes are left so for 10 minutes he covers 30 km which shows that it covers all over 120 km in 1 hour. This shows option b 120km/ hr.
