Velocity of particle in SHM is given as= > V  = Awcos(wt + phi)
Maximum velocity is v = Aw......................(1)
Average speed = > => Aw/2  = Aw
From equation (1)
= v/2

Velocity of particle in SHM is given as= > V  = Awcos(wt + phi)
Maximum velocity is v = Aw......................(1)
Average speed => Aw/2  (average of cos is ½ in the interval 0 to 1.)
From equation (1)
Average speed  = v/2
